Whenever a person is seriously injured, it is no laughing matter. However, even our staff couldn’t help but find some amusement in these two commode-related accident cases that occurred recently. Naturally, of course, we have the greatest sympathy for the victims in both cases.

When You Gotta Go, You Gotta Go

A woman faces hit and run charges after she hit a pedestrian with her car but failed to stop. Her excuse for fleeing the crash scene? She had a sudden onset of diarrhea.

Luckily, a quick-thinking witness took note of the negligent motorist’s license plate and police were able to track them down. The driver explained that she rushed to a nearby grocery store to use the restroom, but that when she returned to the scene of the wreck, there was no one there.

Fortunately, the jogger she hit is expected to make a full recovery from her injuries.

Remember – no matter what your excuse, fleeing an auto accident is a crime in Texas. If you are the victim of a hit-and-run driver, you may still be able to make a claim for damages with the aid of an accident attorney.

Toilet Humor Gone Wrong

A porta-potty prank resulted in catastrophic injuries for a man on a hunting trip with some relatives. While he was doing his business in the portable john, his two cousins-in-law decided it would be funny to block him in by backing their truck up against the door. Unfortunately, the toilet ended up toppling over and the man suffered paralyzing injuries as a result.

The good news is that the victim was able to make a claim for compensation not just against his dimwitted relatives, but also the manufacturer and the installer of the portable toilet.

Remember – no matter how strange the circumstances of your accident, it is always a good idea to talk to a lawyer as there is probably some way that you can make a recovery to cover your necessary medical costs and any other compensation you deserve.
